FIS World Criterium Masters Alpine Skiing 2023
from March 20th to March 25th 2023 in Göstling-Hochkar
For the second time now this big skiing event takes place on the Hochkar in Göstling an der Ybbs and is without a doubt the ultimate highlight this year in terms of ski sports in Lower Austria.
Up to 500 athletes from around the world are expected to take part in the World Criterium Masters at Hochkar to race for the medals.
The top event arranged by the international ski association FIS is given out to suitable ski destinations to host and execute every year. Under this years organisation of the Ski Club Göstling-Hochkar, the athletes - in this case called "Masters" - compete in three disciplines over the course of five days.
In total, 9 Masters World Championship races (WCM) & 3 Masters Cup ski races (FMC) will be held in the disciplines
- Slalom (SL)
- Giant Slalom (GS)
- Super Giant (SG)
on the slopes "Familienabfahrt", "Standardabfahrt" and "Draxlerloch".
Ceremonies
- Opening ceremony - Monday, March 20th, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at the Göstlinger village square
- Closing ceremony - Thursday, March 23th, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at the Göstlinger village square
- award ceremony WCM - March 20th, 2023 at 6 p.m. at the Göstlinger village square & March 23th, 2023 at 6 p.m. at PfarrKulturHaus in Göstling
- award ceremony FMC - March 24th, 2023 at the finish area of the slope "Familienabfahrt"
