Mobility in the Ybbstal Alps

Public and eco-friendly travel into and throughout the racebike region!

In addition to the individual car ride, ÖBB trains will take you comfortably from the Amstetten Westbahn connection to Waidhofen/Ybbs to your Roadbike Holiday Hotel**** Schloss an der Eisenstraße. It is only a few minutes walk from Waidhofen main station to the hotel.

You can take your bike on most local and long-distance trains. In Austria, you need a special bike ticket for this, and you can also buy weekly or monthly tickets for your bike. For international routes, ÖBB offers the Biking International Ticket.

Pick-up options in Ybbstal Alps

Broken chain, hunger pangs, broken spokes? Sometimes the defect devil strikes in the middle of nature and makes a further ride impossible. But you are prepared for this (unpleasant) case:

Along the Ybbstal cycle path, the Biketramper bus runs daily during the summer vacations between Waidhofen an der Ybbs and Lunz am See - as well as in May, June, September and October on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and brings all cyclists comfortably to their desired destination. The buses are contingent to 20 cyclists incl. bike per bus - reservations are unfortunately not possible.

One-way trip from/to Waidhofen an der Ybbs and Lunz am See:

For adults: € 9,60
For children: € 4,80
Seniors with ÖBB Vorteilscard € 5,80
Bicycle transport: € 2,- per bicycle for adults and € 1,- per bicycle for children under 15 years of age.

In addition, you have the possibility to use the bicycle cab. This also runs on call on this route and collects you at the desired pick-up point.
