Ybbstal cycle route ("Ybbstalradweg")

Family-friendly, enjoyable, especially safe and varied.

Enjoy cycling and get to know the Ybbs Valley from its most beautiful side: The Ybbstal Cycle Path makes it possible!

A highlight in the cycle path network of the Mostviertel is certainly the 107 km long Ybbstal Cycle Path, which makes the hearts of pleasure cyclists and nature lovers beat faster. From Ybbs/Donau (Danue), the trail leads along the river through romantic valleys and gently rolling countryside through the alpine region of the Iron Trail. At the end you will be rewarded with the magnificent scenery around the crystal clear Lake Lunzer See.

The heart in the Ybbstal Alps

The old railway line of the former "Ybbstalbahn" runs along the 55 km long core of the Ybbstal Cycle Path. This creates the connection between Waidhofen an der Ybbs and Lunz am See. Completely flat, far away from car traffic and always along the Ybbs, visitors cycle through spectacular landscapes and wildly romantic gorges, encountering historic round arch bridges and hammer mills.

The interaction with water

Water plays an important role throughout, especially along the core. The route not only largely follows the course of the Ybbs, it also offers impressive natural spectacles as well as numerous refreshing bathing spots and romantic resting places. Tired cyclists often enjoy a refreshing dip in the Ybbs - the lido in Hollenstein and Göstling is also a good place to linger. At the end of a cycling day, it is often worth taking a plunge into the cool waters of Lake Lunzer See!

The specially designed rest areas along the Ybbstal Cycle Path are also close to the water. According to the motto "Zeit für s'ich" (time for yourself), the regionally manufactured furniture made of wood and metal as well as some barbecue areas invite you to rest, relax and linger.

THE mobility offer at the Ybbstal Cycle Path

In addition to numerous resting places, refreshment and bathing facilities, the heart of the Ybbstalradweg also offers a special "Highlight": The Bicycle Tramper Bus and the Ybbstal Cycle Taxi enable the diligent cyclists to return comfortably to the starting point at the end of the day.
