Forest bathing
By this we mean consciously spending time in the forest in order to recover physically and mentally and to strengthen our health. With the help of simple exercises, the existing healing effect is intensified, which is the main goal.
Forest bathing can help: promote stress reduction, strengthen the immune system, support recovery, reduce sleep disorders, improve concentration, alleviate breathing problems and lung diseases, lower high blood pressure and sugar levels, destroy potential cancer cells and produce the "heart protection hormone" DHEA
Terpenes, which are part of the forest air, are primarily responsible for this positive effect. These molecules are secreted by the trees and our immune system responds by strengthening its defenses. Not only the terpenes, which you can smell, but also other factors such as tranquillity, different shades of green or gentle soundscapes have a deeply calming effect.
Forest bathing originated in China and has a tradition dating back over 2500 years. Forest bathing is derived from the Japanese term "Shinrin Yoku" and literally means "breathing in/immersing yourself in the forest atmosphere." In Japan and other densely wooded Asian countries such as North and South Korea and Taiwan, forest bathing has become very popular in recent decades as a natural medical approach.
Family time-out
With my forest bathing workshops, I offer families in particular the opportunity to take time out together and get involved with the wonderful natural world, discover exciting things and return home recharged. But I would also like to introduce individual parents to activities and exercises so that they can experience this strengthening effect together with their child and consciously enjoy hours together.
Forest time for children
In our fast-paced world, children are often given fewer and fewer opportunities to take time for themselves. It seems as if the "faster and faster, more and more" mentality has already become ingrained in our little ones. Many don't even know what to do with themselves unless there is something "special" on the agenda. They often get the impression that they want to be "pampered" all the time. I want to counteract this with my forest bathing workshops for this age group.
