The picturesque Sebastianiweg leads us on our last stage of the Mariazellerweg from the small community of Mitterbach am Erlaufsee through the beautiful landscape above St. Sebastian to the pilgrimage basilica in Mariazell.
Description
On the Via Sacra route, starting from Mitterbach am Erlaufsee, we first hike along the Götschlhofweg to the relatively secluded St. Sebastian's Church. The actual Sebastianiweg with its many rosary stations begins at the beautiful church and leads us above the municipality of St. Sebastian and at the foot of the Mariazeller Bürgeralpe to Mariazell.

Route description OÖ Mariazellerweg: D: 7. Etappe: Mitterbach - Sebastianikirche - Mariazell
Entlang des malerischen Sebastianiweges auf der Via Sacra mit seinen Rosenkranz-Bildstöcken geht es nach Mariazell (etwa zwei Stunden ab Mitterbach).
Directions
Von Salzburg kommend die A1 in Richtung Wien nehmen und bei Amstetten Ost (108) abfahren. Auf der L97 bis Steinakirchen am Forst fahren und über Purgstall an der Erlauf, Scheibbs, Gaming und Lunz am See bis nach Mitterbach am Erlaufsee weiterfahren (L89, B25 und B71).
Von Wien kommend die A1 in Richtung Linz nehmen und bei St. Pölten-Süd (59) abfahren. Auf der B20 (Mariazellerstraße) bis Mitterbach am Erlaufsee fahren.
Parking
Im Ortszentrum von Mitterbach gibt es verschiedene, kostenfreie Parkmöglichkeiten.
Nach Mitterbach kann man entweder mit der Mariazellerbahn (Ausgehend von St. Pölten), oder mit dem Bus anreisen (Buslinien 192 oder 197).
