Description

Hoes, axes and hatchets were produced in the Fahrngruber Hammer from the 16th century up to the eighties of the 20th century. In the adjacent charcoal kiln, simple and professional forms of charcoal making are documented in a self-explanatory permanent exhibition based on historical evidence. The sparks are still flying! In the exemplary restored hammer mill, show forging demonstrations, various forging courses and also family taster forging courses take place! Registrations: T +43 7443/85300

The attached charcoal burning museum can be visited daily from the end of April to the end of October from 9 am - 6 pm. It documents the development of energy supply in the small iron trade.

Forging days in the Fahrngruber Hammer
Every first Sunday from May to October is "Smithing Day" at the Fahrngruber Hammer. Visitors young and old can not only look over the blacksmith's shoulder, but also try their hand at it themselves.
