Friesling

Mountain summit

Description

A beautiful excursion mountain with particularly good views - and two peaks: with its largely treeless, large karst plateau, the otherwise densely forested Friesling offers views as far as Buchstein and Voralm.

The summit cross and summit book can be found on the south-western summit. The second summit is on the other side of the plateau. In the warm season, the mountain also boasts a colorful variety of flowers.

Location
Ybbstal Alps, near St. Georgen am Reith

Hike up the Friesling

The Friesling can be hiked along paths and forest roads. From the saddle of the Große Kripp, the mountain hike to the summit takes around 1.5 hours. No refreshment stops along the way!

Good to know: The more than 4-kilometre-long Friesling tunnel from the Opponitz power station runs under the mountain.
