Friesling

Mountain summit

Description

A beautiful excursion mountain with particularly good views - and two summits: With its largely tree-free, large karst plateau, the otherwise densely forested Friesling offers views as far as Buchstein and Voralm.

On the southwestern summit, you'll find a summit cross and book. The second peak is located on the other side of the plateau. In the warm season, the mountain also impresses with a colorful variety of flowers.

Location
Ybbstaler Alps, near St. Georgen am Reith

Hike to the Friesling

The Friesling can be hiked on paths and forest roads. From the saddle of the Große Kripp the mountain hike to the summit takes about 1.5 hours. There are no refreshment stops along the way!

Good to know: Under the mountain runs the more than 4 kilometer long Friesling tunnel from the Opponitz power plant.
