Description

In the area around Fahrnlehen along the Ybbstal cycle path, there are always species-rich, very aesthetically pleasing meadows and pastures with sometimes dense stands of daffodils.
Around 70 different plant species can be found in such areas. Numerous impressive and endangered flowering plants, including a number of orchids, still find suitable living conditions here.
Such areas have become very rare and are of the highest conservation value.

You will find the following plant species here:

  • Man's orchid
    (Orchis mascula)
    Orchid plant
    Flowering time: early/mid-May to mid-June
  • Star narcissus (Narcissus radiiflorus)
    Daffodil plant
    Flowering time: mid-May to mid-June
  • Large bifolium (Listera ovata)
    Orchid plant
    Flowering time: May to June
  • Fly orchid (Ophrys insectifera)
    Orchid family
    Flowering time: early/mid-May to early/mid-June
