Alternative hiking route: Ötschergräben – Spielbichler – Riffelsattel – Ötscher Mountain Hut – Großer Ötscher – Ötscher Mountain Hut.
Continuation into the Ybbstal Valley: Ötscherschutzhaus – Riffelsattel – Mittereckkogel – Winkelbachgraben – Langau (681 m).
