Description
From Lackenhof, after 4 km to Langau and there, immediately after the Ois bridge, lies the site of the former forest station. The forest railway once transported wood from Langau to Lunz am See, where the connecting station was located. It was used until 1974. In the early 1980s, the tracks in Langau were almost completely removed and parts of them were reused outdoors near Türnitz for museum purposes. At the Durchlass, you pass the Neuhauser family farm. On the Lunz side in the valley floor, the path to the lake passes the biological research station of the Academy of Sciences. From there you reach the southern shore of the lake and see parts of the biological station.
