Description

The game and fish dishes on the menu at Gasthof "Zum Schützenwirt" are touted as specialities from the Ötscherland region. The high expectations are fully met: The game stew with croquettes and cranberries as well as the roasted trout with potatoes and butter perfectly reflect the Mostviertel on the plate. Proximity to the basic products and the farmers has always been a major concern for the Pöllinger family. Right in the centre of Langau in the district of Scheibbs, the inn is the culinary hub. Over generations, they have remained true to themselves with honest inn cuisine. In addition to the fish and game specialities, classics such as the baked Viennese veal schnitzel are a delight.

Classic inn with character

The lived inn culture at the Gasthof "Zum Schützenwirt" is passed down from generation to generation. This family cohesion and the connection to the region make the inn what it is: a welcome meeting place for young and old. The ambience is simple but stylish. The bar, regulars' table, extra room and dining room exude the classic charm of an inn. The historic Rothschild Glass Salon is the most popular venue for celebrations of all kinds. Secluded in the outdoor area, the pavilion offers space for 100 people. Surprising but very practical are the in-house general store and tobacconist. 18 individually designed rooms in the inn also promise a break from everyday life.
