Nestled between Gamsstein (1,774 m), Voralpe (1,770 m) and Königsberg (1,452 m) lies the hiking village of Hollenstein an der Ybbs, the main village of the Lower Austrian Eisenwurzen Nature Park. The long cultural development in the interaction of iron, wood and water are the special assets of this community on the Lower Austrian Iron Road.
In the backcountry of the nature park, wooded canyons, primeval forest remnants, waterfalls, cliffs and peaks offer a harsh contrast to flowery forest swamps and lovely alpine meadows. Especially for the sporty guest, the Lower Austrian Eisenwurzen Nature Park offers well-signposted mountain bike routes with a total length of 296 km as well as an extensive network of hiking trails of varying difficulty. The highlight is the bike park at the foot of the Königsberg.
