Description

Hoes, axes and hatchets were produced in the Fahrngruber Hammer from the 16th century right up to the 1980s. In the adjoining coal bar, simple and professional forms of charcoal burning are documented in a self-explanatory permanent exhibition based on historical evidence. The sparks are still flying! Demonstrations of blacksmithing, various blacksmithing courses and family taster courses take place in the exemplary restored hammer mill! Bookings: T +43 7443/85300

The adjoining charcoal burner museum can be visited daily from 9 am to 6 pm from the end of April to the end of October. It documents the development of energy supply in the small iron trade.

Forging days at the Fahrngruber Hammer
Every first Sunday from May to October is "Blacksmith's Day" at the Fahrngruber Hammer. Visitors of all ages can not only look over the blacksmith's shoulder, but also lend a hand themselves.
14.00 - 17.00 hrs; show forging demonstration from 15.00 hrs.
Use the blacksmith's day for a family outing!
