Going down the slopes and touring on the Ötscher

Follow the popular trend on touring skis!
Around the Ötscher, there are numerous possibilities to climb the slopes and mountains from the bottom to the top.

  • The marked ascent route "Ötscher-Schutzhaus" is accessible for touring skiers at all times during the operating hours of the Ötscherlift-Gesellschaft m.b.H.
  • Tour evenings: Every Tuesday & Friday, as well as on four full moon nights during the season, the slopes #1 and #2 on the big Ötscher are open for skiers and tourers from 4:30 pm. From 20:30 or 21:00 o'clock on all slopes of the Ötscherlift-Gesellschaft m.b.H. the piste closure applies.

Sleigh riding & Ice Skating

Fun and action is guaranteed on the approx. 1km long natural sleigh riding run Kirchau/Vogelau in Göstling an der Ybbs. Sleighs are available for a small rental fee of 5 €. Please always pay attention to the current snow situation in the valley.

When icy temperatures freeze, Lunzer See Lake turns into a wonderful natural ice rink. Ice skating and to know the resting Lunzer See underneath you - that is a special experience. With a suitable ice cover, the lake invites you to take a few skating steps on the huge natural ice surface. The Landhotel Zellerhof offers skates for rent.
