One of the most beautiful alpine rivers, the Salza, rises in Mariazell and winds its way down to Großreifling, where it flows into the Enns. It is extraordinary that this river, in addition to its noteworthy drinking water quality, is also still preserved in its original form and has never been straightened.
Our partners offer a wide range of experiences that attract guests from near and far. No matter which sport you choose, you can look forward to an impressive landscape: craggy rocks, remnants of the last ice age, jut out of the water to the left and right, gentle swells and wild rapids alternate and make this wildly romantic gorge a special spectacle.
Rafting
While rafting you sit with other team members in an inflatable boat (depending on the provider, up to 6 pax) Each of you is equipped with a paddle and tries to keep the inflatable boat on course. Depending on the water level, this is sometimes easier, sometimes harder. In any case it will be a wet affair!
Canyoning
full body effort is required here! Unlike rafting, canyoning requires you to climb, swim, jump and slide. If you like it action-packed, canyoning is the right choice for you.

Kayaking
You want to conquer the waves of white water, skilfully navigate currents and not just "slide through" ? With our water sports providers you will learn in different courses from scratch how to keep a kayak under control.
Canoeing & Stand Up Paddling
Generally, canoeing and stand up paddling are more leisurely than the other two sports. You can choose to float leisurely across the lake or take a course that teaches you how to properly handle a canoe on calm waters.
Boating at Lake Lunz
Paddle, pedal and electric boats can be rented at the only natural lake in Lower Austria and invite you to find some privacy on the lake. Some of the boats are equipped with slides and sunbeds, so that nothing stands in the way of a leisurely day of swimming at the lake!
Before each water adventure you will be professionally trained and given appropriate safety equipment. You can get more information about further requirements from the providers or at the latest when booking a tour.
