Description
This varied hike along the historic railroad line of the Ybbstalbahn mountain railroad offers entertaining insights into the local industrial culture and at the same time takes you into a partly untouched natural landscape. The trail continues along the narrow path, avoiding rocky cuttings, up to Pfaffenschlag. Past the former Salchen farm, you hike along a secluded forest and meadow path along Lunz's local mountain (1,004m) and are repeatedly surprised by the fabulous distant views of the surrounding mountains. Descend along a forest road to the marked turn-off to the Lunzbergkreuz (750m), the highlight of this hike. Here you are rewarded with a magnificent view of the center of Lunz. A leisurely walk takes you downhill back to the village.
