Details for: Ostalpin Trail Hochkar - Lackenhof

Brief description

The Grand Tour, which places the highest demands on fitness and technique.

Description

From the valley station of the Hochkarlifte, the route follows the first part of the Ringkogel Trail. From the Ringkogel, always following the ridge, one crosses Schwarzkogel, Gamskogel, Hochkirch, and Sonnstein and reaches the highest point of the trail, the Dürrenstein. Via the Herrenalm (temporarily closed), whose medieval alpine hut invites you to rest, the trail mostly descends into the Langau, from where the path – with a view of the Ötscher – now climbs again to the Riffelsattel. The last meters follow the ski slope downhill to Lackenhof. Note: Water is scarce on this trail (Herrenalm), so sufficient fluids must be carried.
