Brief description

Challenging but scenically magnificent route with a possible stop halfway at the Schwarzalm.

Description

You walk eastwards across green alpine pastures to reach the easternmost point of the tour, the Ringkogel, below the Schmalzmauer and then always close to the ridge in a constant up and down. An impressive view of Hochschwab and Gesäuse rewards the effort. The path now descends gently to the Schwarzalm. Via the Brunnecker huts, you walk back to the starting point via a final ascent.
