Description
From the village center in Opponitz, walk along the Strubb road to the Lucken farmhouse. This is where the hiking trail to the Bauernboden begins. Pass the Buchberg farmhouse on a forest path until you change to a hunter's trail. The trail climbs through some steeper terrain through the beautiful mixed forest to the alpine pasture at the Annahütte. It continues across the alpine pastures - like something out of a picture book - and through the forest to the highest point of the hike, the Alpl at 1405m above sea level.On the way back from the Annahütte, you take the second summit, the Schneekogel, which also offers great views as far as the Gesäuse mountains, and then return to Opponitz.
