Brief description

Beautiful mountain route along the Lower Austria-Styria border: from Sandgraben to the highest point of Gamsstein (the Hochkogel) at 1770 meters above sea level.

Description

From the parking lot along the hiking trail through the forest, later partly overgrown with mountain pines, partly over open ground into an area with karst depressions and sinkholes. The path to the summit cross later climbs more steeply, mostly close to the ridge ridge and along the Styrian-Lower Austrian border. Grassy areas alternate with rocky sections, the last part leads more steeply uphill and shortly before the summit, the path over the Hühnerkogel joins from Palfau. The summit cross on the Hochkogel (1770 m), the highest point of the Gamsstein, is just a few steps away.
