Hiking village Göstling an der Ybbs

A place where hiking becomes a special experience.

Some places in the Mostviertel have set themselves the goal of further developing the regional hiking offerings - and have been awarded the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal for their efforts. One of them is Göstling an der Ybbs.

In the middle of the "Göstlinger Alps" with the Hochkar mountain (1,808m) and the Dürrenstein mountain (1,878m) lies the historic hiking village of Göstling an der Ybbs in the border triangle of Lower Austria, Upper Austria and Styria. At an altitude of 532m, the hiking village offers numerous opportunities for sporting activities - also for the whole family.

Experiencing nature is the main priority.

In addition to a variety of hikes in and around the town center, many paths also lead high up into the fascinating mountain world of the "Göstlinger Alps". While the lead hiking trail „belebt.bewegt." offers a view of the panoramic mountain landscape, the village circular path “belebt.bewegt.” offers a leisurely route where you can get to know the advantages and beauty of the hiking village.

Adventures of all kind for the whole family.

There is plenty of variety in the hiking village. Not just with the hiking routes - although there is also the right experience for everyone. Whether to the Hochreit high plateau or high up to the Hochkar summit - tours of all levels of difficulty are waiting for you.

Those who like to get on the bicycle saddle will be rewarded with incredible natural scenery along the Ybbstal cycle path and a gentle route through the Ybbstal Alps, which is ideal for the whole family.

For the adventurous the two via ferratas "Bergmandl" and "Heli-Kraft" on Hochkar bring you high alpine fun. And for everyone who wants to take it easy or refresh themselves, the Ybbstaler salt water bath and the river bath in Göstling/Ybbs await you.
