Refreshing and invigorating: bathing in the Ybbs

In the upper Ybbs valley you find the romantic river baths of Hollenstein and Göstling. They are characterised by clear water and a particularly beautiful natural backdrop.

Back in those days, summer resorts sought refreshment in the river baths on the Ybbs. The mountain water is just the right thing on hot days!

Swimming in Hollenstein

A real jewel of nature is the lido in Hollenstein an der Ybbs. The river bath with over 100 years of tradition offers its guests every comfort. The bottom belt divides the bath into an area for non-swimmers and one for advanced swimmers. Children can also explore the water world with the Sautrog. Buffet, table tennis table, open-air chess and barbecue complete the offer.

Entrance fees: Adults €2.50, children €1.50

Swimming in Göstling

Another idyllic bathing place is the river bath in the Dr.-Stepan-Park in Göstling an der Ybbs. Drinks, ice cream and snacks are offered in July and August in the small but fine park hut. Children's playground, beach volleyball court and barbecue area are in the immediate vicinity. Guests of the neighbouring "Ybbstaler Solebad" (Ybbstal brine bath) enjoy access to the river bath.

Free admission!

Both river baths are located directly on the Ybbstal cycle path - treat yourself to a break and jump into the refreshing water!

Excursion tip Salza

The crystal clear, emerald green Salza in Palfau, the neighbouring Styrian community of Göstling, is the home of rafting, kayaking and canyoning fans. If you're not afraid of the cold whitewater, you'll find a secluded spot along the river and disappear once. A visit to the "Wasserlochklamm Palfau" (waterhole gorge) with the ArenaSalza is recommended.
