Brief description

Easy accessible route with beautiful views of and over Hollenstein

Description

From the village square to the start of the high trail. This easy trail leads to the highest point (approx. 600 m). It joins a forest road on the descent and then continues the hike uphill towards Ziegelauer Sattel. Up to this point the marking was no. 1, from now on it is no. 3.

At a hairpin bend, a road branches off, leading steeply along the stream into a densely wooded area. Further up, the path narrows and becomes steeper and steeper as an old cart track leads up to a forest road. While the road bends to the left, the path follows the densely wooded ditch directly up to the Zieglauer Sattel (720 m).

From here you climb up to the summit meadow of the Gallenzer Kogel (782 m), then descend along a road to the Gallenzen farm. From here, an asphalt road leads down into the valley. On the path towards the village, you walk along the iron road to the "Steindlbrücke" bridge along the right bank of the stream back to the village center of Hollenstein.
