Description
Shortly after Seehof Castle, a forest path quickly takes you higher up. You will feel the soft moss and leaves beneath your feet before you reach a meadow again. After crossing it, you pass a farm - now it's not far to the highest point of the panoramic mountain, as you soon reach the panoramic summit of Maiszinken (1075m).
The summit climb is rewarded with a fabulous view down to Lake Lunz glistening in the sunlight. Simply magnificent!
The descent to the Rehbergalm takes you past the Almgasthaus and further over the forest ridge of the Steinbauernberg, which surprises you again and again with impressive views. A forest path takes you comfortably downhill to the end point.
The lakeside path along Lake Lunz is also a leisurely walk back to Seehof, the starting point of the tour.
Our tip: Enjoy the view of Lake Lunz from the "Seeblickbankerl" bench and listen to the peace and quiet.
Alternative: The hiking trail leads directly from the starting point up to the Rehbergalm - an enjoyable ascent for young and old with views of Lake Lunz! Route - either continue as option 1 or return the same way.
