Details for: Along the Ybbs in Waidhofen
Brief description
A relaxing walk along the Ybbs.
Description
The river has always shaped the history of the town. For centuries, the Ybbs served as a transportation route, energy supplier and border between different dominions. There was not much room in the narrow valley for iron-processing companies that needed the water power, so they built close to the steep drop. Information boards along the "Ybbsuferweg" theme trail provide information about the regional economic and cultural history, nature and fish. The Ybbsuferweg is accessible from May to October.
