Route description Bellevue route

Located in the heart of the MTB paradise around Waidhofen, Ybbsitz and Sonntagberg, the Bellevue route offers great views over the fertile yet wild Mostviertel. This route is especially recommended during the pear tree blossom season. Despite its length, the Bellevue route is ideal as an introductory ride at the start of the season. Starting from Waidhofen an der Ybbs, the city of towers, we mainly cycle on asphalt, first following the Ybbs river, then turning left uphill past idyllic farms, along the south-facing ridge where you can already enjoy beautiful views, for example a view of Ybbsitz nestled in the pre-alpine mountains. Sweat-inducing climbs alternate with less strenuous sections, passing chapels and the idyllic farm "Eckamp" still roofed with straw, along hiking and meadow paths, repeatedly enjoying wonderful views of the hilly Mostviertel and the pre-alpine Eisenwurzen. We reach St. Leonhard, where a break is recommended, for example at the Eisenstraßenheuriger Ettel, to recharge for the last climbs up to the Sonntagberg Basilica. After visiting and a tour, we can enjoy the last panorama view here. Now we have made it, from now on it's downhill into the Lueggraben to Böhlerwerk. Here we cross the railway tracks and finally cycle left upstream along the romantic Ybbs river landscape back to our starting point, where the outdoor pool awaits with a jump into the cool water.
