Brief description

Challenging hill climb up Ybbsitz's local mountain, rewarded with beautiful views (incl. tower) and a stop at a mountain hut.

Description

From the village center in Ybbsitz, the tour first leads along the asphalt Prochenbergstraße with a gradient of up to 14% to the Haselsteiner farmhouse. After a short flat section, you reach the gravel road which is constantly steep (8-12%). Shortly before the last kilometer, it flattens out again for a few meters before you reach the hut via the last two hairpin bends. The same way back!

Directions

From Vienna take A1 to Ybbs exit, then B25 and B22 to Ybbsitz.

From the west take A1 to Oed exit, via Aschbach Markt on B121, via B31 and B22 to Ybbsitz.
