Brief description

The skill area on Rabenberg features short, rooty trails peppered with small obstacles, ranging from easy to medium difficulty. Ideal practice terrain for trail beginners.

Description

After a short ride directly from the city center, the "Approach Trail" leads about 800 m to the skill area from the starting point. There are short "Practice Trails" of varying difficulty levels (S0-S1), with small jumps, waves, steep bends, and berms.

Slightly longer and more demanding are the Homeway Trail (approx. 800 m, medium, S1-S2) or the Border Trail (approx. 300 m, difficult, S2-S3). Both end on the asphalt road in the settlement, over which you can cycle back to the starting point (total circuit approx. 3 km).

Route description Rabenberg Single Trails

From the parking lot at the local train station via Weyrer Street, Konradsheimer Street, and Rabenberg Street to the starting point of the Rabenberg Trails on Eichenweg. Here begins the signposted Approach Trail. At the trail end in Waldstraße return the same way back to the city or via Hinterberg. Near the trail start and end is the cross on Krautberg from where you can see the historic old town of Waidhofen with its towers and squares, Rotschild Castle, and the gentle mountains and hills of the Ybbstaler Alps.

From the A1 Amstetten West motorway via the B121 to Waidhofen/Ybbs (25 km). 

Parking

Free parking at the local train station, Pocksteinerstraße 31. From there approximately 3 km to the trail end or start, uphill on the asphalt road. 

Kronprinz Rudolf Railway / ÖBB to Waidhofen/Ybbs. Nearest station to the trail is the "Waidhofen/Ybbs Stadt" station.

Helmet mandatory! Further safety equipment/protective clothing strongly recommended! 

Safety information

The usage times are based on sunrise and sunset and the associated activity and rest phases of the forest inhabitants:

March and October: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

April and September: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

May to August: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Any liability for accidents or property damage is excluded. 

Pay attention to other forest users, especially slower trail users and hikers. Forest inhabitants also deserve their peace! Therefore, bike only on marked paths to protect flora and fauna. 

Adapt your riding style to your skills and the terrain and ride considerately (without locking wheels). Biking is at your own risk and is only allowed with protective gear.
