Details for: Höhenstein route

Brief description

A wonderful hike that rewards you with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains!

Description

The actual "Höhenstein-Runde" has been well marked with red markings for several years.

It is a relatively short and easy, but very varied and therefore rewarding route. Although no single spot offers an all-round panorama, the trail passes numerous very beautiful viewpoints, which naturally invite you to stop and take photos.

From the parking lot, follow the marked forest path uphill for approx. 35 minutes until you reach the ridge (bench; panoramic view of Ötscher, Scheiblingstein & Co). Now walk along the ridge until you reach the highest point of the hike (wooden cross on Egger Berg 1,134m). From here it is a gentle descent to the Höhensteineck. From there, descend through the forest to the Höhensteinstube house, where you follow the asphalt road to the starting point.
