Details for: Along the Ybbs in Waidhofen
Brief description
A relaxed walk along the Ybbs.
Description
The river has always shaped the history of the town. For centuries, the Ybbs served as a transport route, a source of energy, and a border between different territories. In the narrow valley, there was little space for iron-processing businesses that needed hydropower, so they built close to the steep slope. Information boards along the "Ybbsuferweg" themed route provide insights into regional economic and cultural history, nature, and fish. The Ybbsuferweg is accessible from May to October.
